Chevrolet Sequel The petrol-free Chevrolet Sequel is exclusively powered by hydrogen. Originally introduced in 2005 at the Detroit Auto Show, the Sequel was the first concept car to utilise a hydrogen fuel cell propulsion system along with steer-and brake-by-wire controls, wheel hub motors, lithium-ion batteries and a lightweight aluminum structure. The Sequel has a range of 300 miles between fill-ups as it pulls fuel from three carbon composite high-pressure tanks for hydrogen which are mounted and sandwiched into the chassis in order to protect it from damage in the event of a crash. As for performance, the Chevrolet Sequel will go from 0 to 60 in under ten seconds and has a top speed of around 140 mph.
